Wig density, weight and the price of a wholesale order

Buyers ask for a density; a supplier quotes a weight. The two describe the same thing — how much hair is on the unit — and understanding the link is most of what makes two prices comparable.

Density and weight describe the same hair

Density is how much hair sits on a given area of cap; weight is that same hair measured in grams. A description that names a density without a length is incomplete, because the same density on a longer unit is more hair and more weight.

On this catalogue, weight is the published figure

Every length carries its own weight: the seamless lace line runs from 155 g at 14 inch to 235 g at 22 inch, and the medical caps are lighter at each length. The figure is fixed per length rather than offered in density bands, so what you see on a model page is what you can quote.

Why length moves the price most

The price of a unit is set by length first, then construction, colour and packaging. Long hair is a smaller part of the supply than short hair, so each step up in length adds more to the price than any other single change.

What construction does to the price

Hand work is the cost. A hand-tied cap takes more hours than a machine-back cap at the same length, and a seamless lace front carries its own construction cost, so two units of one length can differ in price by construction alone.

How to compare two quotes fairly

Put length, weight, construction, colour code and packaging side by side before comparing the number. A cheaper quote at the same length can be a lighter unit, and then the two are not the same product and the difference is not a saving.

Questions buyers ask

Can I order a heavier unit at the same length?

We quote the published weight for each length; a change to it is a change to the specification and is confirmed on quotation rather than assumed.

Does a heavier wig last longer?

Not on its own. Lifespan follows the hair, the colour and how the unit is worn and cared for more than the gram figure.

How is the price calculated?

By quantity, length, colour and packaging. Each model page shows a reference range, and the final quotation is confirmed by email or WhatsApp.
